It doesn’t matter whether it’s rainy or sunny: Whatever Mother Nature brings, the 2025 version of Bike Beaverton takes place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at City Park.

“This important event teaches us about road safety for both bicyclists and motorists. With an educational safety rodeo, community tabling fair, and a community bike ride, this event is fun for the whole family,” according to the city of Beaverton.

The tabling fair consists of about 12 local businesses and nonprofit organizations that have connections to cycling or transportation in the Beaverton area.

Event registration is required, and a Bike Safety Rodeo Obstacle Course for kids will be offered with the Beaverton Police Department’s Bike Team.

A community bike ride, sponsored by the Bicycle Advisory Committee, begins at 1:30 p.m. At the ride, there are three routes to choose from, and all routes are on an open course. Note that traffic lanes will remain open and riders will be sharing the road with cars.

From 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., ride leaders will make a stop at Eichler Park, where participants can enjoy technical bike demonstrations on the dirt trail pump track at the park. The Vose Elementary Unicycle Club will perform at 2:45 p.m.

Aspen Dalton, an event coordinator for the city of Beaverton, described the event as promoting safety and cycling within the city, as well as having fun.

“This event is really geared towards all types of cyclists: a lot of families, a lot of young cyclists, beginning cyclists,” Dalton said. “Everyone can just have a starting point.”

Those participating in the May 4 event will be required to fill out a waiver. To save time, Bike Beaverton suggests you bring a completed waiver upon arrival (one waiver per family). You can access waivers at the city website, atbeavertonoregon.gov/508/Bike-Beaverton. Waivers will be provided at the event as well.

City Park is located at the intersection of Fifth Street and Hall Boulevard, and helmets are required for all riders.
