The hits keep on comin’ for the Hops who just can’t seem to lose.

Despite two of their best hitters getting the night off, Hillsboro managed to extend their winning streak to seven with a 4-3 win over Everett on Saturday night, April 12, at Funko Field in Everett.

The Hops got three runs in the fifth inning thanks to a Demetrio Crisantes double followed by an Angel Ortiz double, and got what amounted to the winning run an inning later when Druw Jones scored on a double steal.

Hillsboro starting pitcher Mason Marriott was impressive, going five innings and allowing just one earned run on three hits while striking out nine.

Everett scored the game’s first run in the fourth inning on a Milkar Perez RBI single, then pulled to within a run with two runs in the seventh off of Hops reliever Jorge Minyety. But could manage no more over the game’s final two innings as Luke Craig and Philip Abner put the home Sox down in relief.

Hillsboro managed just four hits in the game with Crisantes leading the way, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.

Marriott got the win over the Hops, while Everett’s Allan Saathoff took the loss after allowing three earned runs in relief of starter Jurrangelo Cijntje.

The two teams will meet in the finale of their six-game set at 4:05 p.m. this evening in Everett.
