The Leadership Beaverton Class of 2025 is dedicating the month of April to help homeless individuals with donations of essential cold-weather clothing and supplies.

The monthlong drive, a program of the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce, will directly benefit the Beaverton Shelter, Greater Good Northwest and Home Plate Youth Services, groups with a goal of helping those in need in Beaverton. Donations will be collected through May 1 at the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce and other participating drop-off locations.

Among 16 the locations will be the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, Chick-fil-A on Cedar Hills Boulevard and St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church on Southwest Cabot Street in Beaverton.

Community members are encouraged to donate new or gently used items, like jackets, coats (large sizes), winter hats, gloves and rain ponchos, as well as tops and bottoms, such as T-shirts, pants, shorts, sweatshirts and sweatpants (large sizes).

Shoes and slippers of all sizes will be accepted as well as new underwear and socks.

“This initiative is a tangible way for our community to come together and provide critical support for those experiencing houselessness,” Andy Varner, city of Beaverton’s community development director and participant of Leadership Beaverton 2025, said. “By donating, you’re helping ensure our neighbors have the warmth and essentials they need.”
