A Beaverton man will spend five years in prison after going on two separate Walmart heists in Cornelius and Tigard that resulted in thousands of dollars in stolen product.

On Wednesday, April 2, a Washington County jury found Isauro Garcia guilty of first-degree aggravated theft and first-degree theft, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office announced.

In February 2023, Garcia entered a Walmart in Tigard with a woman, tampering with a security case holding electronics before piling his cart with other items and leaving the store without paying.

That same day, according to authorities, Garcia returned while attempting to disguise his appearance. He extracted four security cameras from the electronics case without paying — products that totaled more than $1,500.

A month later, Garcia — again accompanied by the same woman — stole more than $10,000 in electronics from a Walmart in Cornelius on two separate occasions. The district attorney’s office said he used a similar method of meddling with an electronics case to access merchandise.

At the time, Garcia was on probation for unrelated property crimes — which, according to the district attorney’s office, allowed Washington County Judge Erik Buchér to increase his sentence. Court records show Garcia faces a laundry list of charges across four open cases in Washington County, including allegedly burglarizing a residence, damaging Oregon Department of Transportation property and swiping over $1,000 in products from a Target store.

In the most recent case filed in February, the Beaverton resident is accused of stealing a vehicle and driving under the influence. Garcia also allegedly had unlawfully possessed personal identification belonging to nine different people.

Authorities will transfer Garcia to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
