Hot Hops make it four in a row with a 13-6 win at Everett

Despite a wonky day on the mound, Hillsboro extended their winning streak to four with a 13-6 win over Everett on Wednesday, April 9, at Funko Field in Everett.
Hops pitchers issued 11 base-on-balls and three hit-batsmen in the game, but made up for such with 12 hits, including two home runs.
Druw Jones led Hillsboro with four hits in the game, finishing 4-for-6 with a double, three RBI and three runs scored.
Ryan Waldschmidt and Jackson Feltner both homered for the Hops, with Waldschmidt tallying a team-high five RBI.
Hillsboro scored one run in the first inning, four in the third, four more in the fourth, a single run in the fifth, then capped their scoring with three in the seventh.
Hops starting pitcher Logan Clayton struggled for the second time this season, allowing three earned runs on four hits over 3.2 innings, but failed to register a strike out while walking five.
Clayton has allowed six earned runs in 4.1 innings thus far this season.
Jorge Minyety got the win for Hillsboro, pitching 2.1 hitless innings while striking out three in relief of Clayton.
Everett starter Shaddon Peavyhouse struggle mightily, allowing seven earned runs with four walks in 3.1 innings, taking the loss.
With their hot days at the plate, Waldschmidt raised his season batting average to .600, while Jones is now batting .409.
The two teams will meet again at 7:05 p.m. tonight at Funko Field.
